Doug and Drew often go for walks in the front yard. Doug is good buddies with our neighbor Bob - I like to joke they're like dorm buddies during football season. After a game ends Doug usually ends up over there talking it over with Bob. We also end up with the excess of BBQ from Bob's tailgate parties. He's a great neighbor to have! Anyway, whenever we see him outside we say "Hey, Bob!"
Today I realized, Drew thinks his name really is "Heybob".
Toddlers. They're the best.

car talk
Drew is starting to ask questions in his own way these days. Most recently he has started to ask for specific songs to be heard or sung - "Round, round, round?" means "The wheels on the bus go round and round?" Before he went to his name today we were listening to his dance party song with a chorus that says "Na-na-nanana-na..." The very instant he awoke from his nap in the afternoon, he asked "na-nanana-na?"
Another conversation we had in the car today went something like this:
Drew: "Straw? Straw?" (while pointing to the side of his snack cup)
Mommy: "No, that's called a handle. Handle"
Drew: "Handle. Handle. Handle. Handle."
Mommy: "Yep. That's right"
Drew: "Handle. Handle. Snack. Juice. You da Mommy. Nose. (pointing to me) Nose (pointing to his nose)"
I guess you could say he is in the "naming phase"!

bear on a bike
This was the second time through the book (for the sake of the blog); he and Doug both were ready to move on to "If You Give a Pig a Pancake."
