snow day!

My camera battery was dying, but i had to catch at least a glimpse of White Texas.

Drew's ready to go sledding!

was it the steroids?

Poor Drew was exposed to peanuts just a few short days ago and is therefore on steroids to kick the effects. Could it be the steroids have helped him meet his milestones? Too bad they only gave him enough for three days...We could have a runner on our hands very soon.

* Another milestone he met tonight - climbing onto the couch. Oh boy!

happy valentine's day!

staring contest

This one is for Drew's Gee Gee. After days (or months) of Drew turning everything - I mean everything - into a hat, I decided to get out one of my old K-State hats for him. He loves it! Add to that, the silly expressions on his face that come up while he is listening to my phone ring and wondering why I'm not answering...He just looked too cute to not capture.

just a bowl? so you say...

He seems to think everything is a hat these days...

15 months...and a blossoming tattle tail

Drew is at a very fun age where you can see he is learning new things every day and challenging his boundaries. We are working very hard to help him realize those boundaries. It's funny how each child processes through these times differently.

With Drew, he will literally tell on himself before he gets into trouble...but that doesn't stop him from doing it. For example, he's not allowed to touch the TV/media buttons. The scenario begins with him sitting on the rug two feet away from the TV, he says "no, no, no" before he's even moved an inch. I know what is coming. He crawls towards the tv, "no, no, no". I have yet to say a word. He pulls up to stand below the tv, looks back at me, "no, no?". Then he reaches up towards the buttons when I finally say, "Drew, are you sure you want to do that?" His reply, "no". But he does it anyway. And inevitably goes to his 1 minute time out.

He handles these time outs fairly well. As Doug says, the kid is impervious to discipline. When I return to his room he is standing at the side of his crib again, saying "no, no, no?". I pick him up, give him a hug and begin the process yet again!
